Eating what you want and still making progress.

People want to build a lean body! Who doesn't? A lean frame looks attractive and appealing and is highly desired by almost everyone. The truth is that most people do not know how to do this without making the diet miserable. In order to have balance and sanity in your life, you need to be able to enjoy some of your favorite foods in the correct portion sizes! Let me explain.

If you look at this as a "diet" it will not work long term. It will look as if it is something that you need to get through in order to go back to old ways. A short term mindset will never work if you are trying to maintain your body and health forever. The key is to learn how macro-nutrients work with your body to have balance of foods, with them emphasis placed on hitting the correct number of protein, carbs, and fat every day.

Constantly relying on will power will not work long term. Will power can be exercised and depleted until one day... YOU CAVE IN ALL THE WAY. You can not maintain a lean physique year round on will power only.

When people go into it with the mindset of tracking macros, all of a sudden, more foods are "on limits." It starts to become a game of making the foods that you are eating fit your daily calorie/macro intake to help keep your sanity. Everything has a nutrition label.

Everything can be tracked to the best of your ability. This will not only provide a way to get to your goal, but a way to keep your sanity while doing it.

A big thing too is the fact that eventually, hunger in inevitable. When you are restricting calories, your body is pulling physical body tissue (fat) from your body for fuel. Hunger is inevitable. Depending on how much weight you are trying to lose, it may come at the first couple weeks in, for others it's much later or even months down the road.

The key with all of this is to take a step back and take it day by day. Brush up on the knowledge of macros to learn how to track and how many calories you need each day to start losing weight and the rest is smooth from there on out.
