Ladies! YOU May Not Be Eating ENOUGH!


I have seen it time and time again. A girl trying to lose weight and simply can't no matter how little she eats. It seems that her fat loss has stalled even though she is hardly taking in 1000 calories a day. Why could this be? It leaves her confused and not unsure of what to do next.

The answer- REVERSE DIET!

You see, the body is often smarter than people realize. It knows that it is not getting fed enough food throughout each day. It shuts down all fat loss, simply because the body does not want to lose anymore weight. It has to fight tooth and nail too keep every ounce of body weight that it can. In order to stop this, you need to reverse diet. Reverse dieting is when you slowly week by week add calories (100-200) extra per week until the body reaches its maintenance (the weight where the scale stays the same consistently) to incorporate more food. From there, you want to go over by another couple hundred calories per day until the body is in a slight surplus.

After a couple weeks when the scale finally goes up 2-3 lbs, thats when you are ready to start to diet again. By this time, leptin levels (fat burning hormone) is caught up, refreshed and ready to work again. However this time when you try to diet, do it more gradually. If you are a female, start with 2000 calories per day with a 40/40/20 ratio of carbs, protein, and fat. If the scale does not move, subtract 50 calories from your carbs and 50 calories from your fat week by week until the scale drops. Once it starts to drop, DO NOT LOWER CALORIES ANY MORE. Let your body do the work at that caloric value. The goal is to always feed the body as much as you can while still losing fat!
